SpaceX launches lunar lander on flight to moon – CBS News

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket carrying a privately-built moon lander left the Earth’s atmosphere early Thursday. If all goes well, it will land on the moon in one week, the first U.S. spacecraft to do so in over half a century. Christian Davenport, a reporter covering NASA and the space industry for the Washington Post’s financial desk, joined CBS News to discuss the launch.
