Law enforcement are responding to the scene of a shooting near a light rail facility in San Jose, California, according to a tweet from the San Jose Police. A tweet from the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office said the shooter is down, and a tweet from the San Jose mayor said several people are being treated.

Mayor Sam Liccardo said the situation is still being assessed after the incident early Wednesday.

“The shooter is no longer a threat, and the facility has been evacuated,” Liccardo’s tweet said.

The facility is operated by the VTA, the Santa Clara County transportation agency. The sheriff’s department is located nearby.

This is a developing story.
