VRBO is giving away this $18,000 ski trip for free

Skiing in Utah can be expensive, with lift tickets costing between $42 and $169 per adult per single day, not to mention high hotel rates during ski season (November to May), ski gear rental and more. But vacation rental company VRBO is holding a contest where one winner (and up to 19 friends) will stay in a luxury cabin and ski on a private slope in Beaver, Utah — for free.

The Win the Mountain sweepstakes vacation is worth $18,000, according to the company.

The winner and crew will get a complementary three-night stay at a secluded, luxury mountain lodge near Eagle Point Resort. They will have private ski instructors for a day of private skiing at the resort, which has a 10,600-foot peak. That means the winner and friends get the entire mountain — with 40 runs and five lifts — all to themselves. Lift passes, ski passes, snowboarding passes and equipment rental are also all included.

The group will stay in a 3,600-square-foot luxury lodge with four bedrooms and three bathrooms that sleeps 20. It has two living areas (one with chandeliers), a game and entertainment area with a pool table and two levels of wrap-around deck with an outdoor hot tub and views of three nearby lakes and Eagle Point Ski Resort.

The winner will also receive a $5,000 stipend for the trip (which can be used for airfare).

The trip will take place from Feb. 17, 2019 through Feb. 20, with access to the private mountain on Feb. 19 (plus lift passes for the remaining days of the trip).

The sweepstakes ends Nov. 17.
