In an election year we come across many new people running for congressional seats. Some of these individuals catch our eye more than others and I have spotted a really interesting woman who I believe will be a great asset to government.
Darlene Swaffar is running to unseat an incumbent, Ted Deutch, in Florida District 22.
Swaffar has the credentials to make this happen. She is a descendant of ancestors who fought in the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812 and one of our greatest Founding Fathers was her 9th Great Uncle, Benjamin Franklin.
Swaffar wants to carry the legacy of her uncle and return the ”People’s House” back to the American people.
This woman from the sunshine state isn’t a Politician, in fact she is a business owner, a neighbor, a daughter, a granddaughter and a mother to a 10 year old son.
She grew up poor in Bushwick, Brooklyn. At the time her she grew up, which was in the 80’s, Bushwick was a drug war zone. She attended St. John’s University and received an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration. In 1993 she moved to Miami and attended Florida International University and majored in Business Management. She was also an Accounting Major in school
Swaffer is also an expert on Medicare Health Insurance and can advance and negotiate on behalf of Seniors in the state of Florida and help on committees that need her expertise in this field for the entire country.
Living in Florida for 27 years now, she runs a successful Medicare Insurance Agency with 30 Agents, in Deerfield Beach, Florida. As a Certified Woman-owned and Hispanic-owned business, Swaffer is now in a position where she can teach new agents how to run a successful Medicare Insurance business.
There is no one in Congress, at this time, who has the level of expertise from the insurance perspective. Swaffar can assist our President lower drug costs, hold big pharma accountable, and help Veterans with Housing and Mental Help Support.
Swaffar is the whole package and yes, she has much to offer, if elected.

Protect our Constitution specifically our 2nd Amendment Rights.
Support our President in MAGA. With a Congress that supports our President, imagine what we can do as a Country? Democrats who are consumed with Impeaching our President and filing false allegations affects us on the Worldwide Stage, and our ability to negotiate trade deals and advance peace talks. Their Agenda hurts us all!
Fight for Medicare Benefits including Respite Care for our Seniors. Our Seniors deserve more. As the Medicare Lady TM, I am an expert on Medicare Health Insurance and can advance and negotiate on behalf of our Seniors. There is no one in Congress right now with my level of expertise from an insurance perspective.
Explore lowering drug costs comparable with Canadian and European prices. Hold big pharma accountable.
Help Our Veterans with Housing and Mental Help Support. On average, 22 Veterans commit suicide every day. We need to do better America! We need to change this statistic and honor and support our Veterans.
Protect our waterways and beaches from erosion. Assist our community with weather preparedness.
Promote economic development and create diverse job opportunities so we are less dependent on tourism or cyclical business cycles in South FL.
Mandatory Term Limits for Congress Members.
Fight against Lobbying that diverts attention to Corporate interests instead of Americans.
Work on Legislation to improve and elevate moral conduct standards and guidelines of elected officials. Let’s send a message that unethical behavior will not be tolerated in Congress.
Institute a Financial Responsibility and Home Economics course across our school system. Teach our children how to balance a checkbook, budgeting and investing.
Rewrite the American Civics course from elementary through college levels. I want to work with Historians who have factual information on what our Founding Fathers sacrificed to give us Liberty and the Republic that we are privileged to enjoy. On average most Americans do not know how our Government works. I would like to change that.
Foster Mentorship Programs between successful business owners and youth interested in entrepreneurial aspirations and goals.
