Riley Gaines, the legendary NCAA swimmer and advocate of women’s sports, retaliated against a “Squad” Democrat who had labeled her and other witnesses’ evidence against transgenders participating in women’s sports as being “transphobic.”

After the Squad member made fun of the witnesses’ evidence in her opening remarks, Rep. Summer Lee (D-Pa.), the ranking member of the House Oversight Subcommittee on Health, received a sharp response from Gaines.

Gaines did not take the women’s testimonies against biological males participating in women’s sports lightly when Lee referred to them as bigoted and “transphobic.”

“There’s a place for everybody to play sports in this country,” Gaines said, noting that transgender Americans were included in her view. “But unsafe, unfair, and discriminatory practices must stop.”

“Inclusion cannot be prioritized over safety and fairness,” the NCAA legend concluded. “And ranking member Lee, if my testimony makes me ‘transphobic,’ then I believe your opening monologue makes you a misogynist.”

After a lengthy back-forth debate, Lee called a point of order, demanding that Gaines’ comments be removed from the record.

Gaines testified with a number of other female executives who were summoned as witnesses to address the planned Title IX rule modification by the Biden administration.

The chairwoman of the House Oversight Subcommittee on Health, Rep. Lisa McClain (R-Mich.), announced on Tuesday that Gaines, along with senior legal fellow Sarah Parshall Perry of the Heritage Foundation and former head women’s lacrosse coach Kim Russell of Oberlin College, will be present at the hearing next week on “The Importance of Protecting Female Athletics and Title IX.”

The proposed rule revisions to Title IX by the Biden administration, which would include gender identity in the definition of sexual discrimination, will be the subject of the hearing.

According to the proposed amendment, a college or university could not forbid biological men who identify as transgender women from competing in women’s sports.

Last week, McClain said, “Congress must do everything it can to protect women’s sports,” on Fox News.

“The Biden administration is putting women’s safety, privacy, and opportunities at risk by dismantling Title IX,” McClain said.

“We look forward to hearing from Riley Gaines and other witnesses firsthand about how these rule changes harm fairness and protection for women in women’s sports across the country,” the congresswoman concluded.

Gaines has strongly opposed the idea of biological male athletes competing against biological female athletes and has been a strong advocate for women’s sports in general.

The Olympic trial qualifier blasted the Title IX rule modification proposal from the Biden administration in June, labeling the “rewrite” of the women’s protection policy as “an abomination.”
