Amazon plans more cashier-less stores, report

Amazon (AMZN) is planning more cashier-less stores, according to Recode, with the huge online retailer planning on opening as many as six more ‘Amazon Go’ stores this year.

The next stores will likely be in Seattle and Los Angeles, people familiar with the matter told Recode, with the sources adding that Amazon has held talks with developer Rick Caruso about bringing an Amazon Go store to the Grove, a shopping center in Los Angeles, whereas one source told Recode that Amazon has identified at least three locations for stores in Seattle.

Amazon Go offers a Just Walk Out Shopping experience. Shoppers use the Amazon Go app to enter the store, select their products and simply leave without having to check out. Amazon charges the customer’s account and charges their Amazon account.

The first Amazon Go store was opened in Seattle.
