SEOUL (Reuters) – South Korea’s finance minister said on Monday the government would make an all-out effort to respond to moves by President Donald Trump to impose tariffs on U.S. metal imports.
“We will make clear what our stance is,” Kim Dong-yeon told other ministers in a policy meeting in Seoul.
“(The government) will deploy all possible means to respond to U.S. steel tariffs measures and make an all-out effort.”
Kim did not elaborate.
Kim also said the government would monitor financial markets around the clock to curb any instabilities rising from uncertainties related to trade frictions and rising interest rates abroad.
