Off-duty Alaska Airlines pilot accused of trying to cut plane’s engines appears in court – CBS News

Joseph Emerson, the off-duty Alaska Airlines pilot accused of trying to shut down a plane’s engine mid-flight, is appearing in federal court Thursday. Court documents say Emerson told police that he had tried psychedelic mushrooms about 48 hours before the flight. CBS News senior transportation correspondent Kris Van Cleave has the latest.
