We are buying 50 shares of Disney at roughly $102.25 Following the trade, Jim Cramer’s Charitable Trust will own 1,110 shares of DIS, increasing its 3.35% weighting to from 3.2%. With the market hitting new session lows on Monday afternoon, we’re turning back to our large cash position and making another small buy. We’ve been buying in very small increments — as we usually do with any big sell-off — but some of that purchasing activity is offset by the profit-taking sales we’ve made in positions such as Abbott Laboratories and Linde . The result is we’ve been operating at a small “net into” the market, meaning more buying than selling in dollar amounts. A “net out” of the market, on the other hand, would be more sales than buys. These sales have protected our cash position in this market volatility. Disney has seen its stock fall alongside others in the travel-and-leisure category due to fears of a pullback in consumer spending. But a Disney vacation is likely one that would be last to get canceled due to the planning and excitement in booking. Lower prices at the gasoline pump also shouldn’t be forgotten because lower fuel prices make it cheaper to travel to a Disney park. Even in a consumer slowdown, Disney has a good chance of beating and raising its guidance through the rest of the year. The company reported a strong quarter in early February but left its outlook unchanged for the rest of the year out of prudence and conservatism. This Disney buy will likely be our last on Monday because tomorrow is a new day and we want to be ready with cash in case the market gets hit again. (Jim Cramer’s Charitable Trust is long DIS.
