Rishard Matthews is apparently done with the Tennessee Titans.
Citing a lack of targets, the wide receiver has asked for his release from the team, and the Titans are going to grant it, according to multiple reports.
In a text exchange with a reporter from the NFL Network, Matthews said he would still like to play somewhere.
He posted a photo of his family on Instagram on Wednesday and wrote, “When Daddy’s home for good. That is unless someone Calls him to get off the couch.”
The 28-year-old has caught just three passes this season for a total of 11 yards, but the seven-year veteran was productive in his first two seasons in Tennessee, putting up 945 yards and nine touchdowns in 2016 and following that up with 795 yards and four TDs last year.
Matthews signed a one-year contract extension with the Titans worth a base value of $7.75 million last month.
