
President Trump heads to Capitol Hill Tuesday night for his first State of the Union address, giving him an opportunity to speak directly to the American people about his first year in office.
Mr. Trump said he hopes to project a sense of unity in his address before an audience of lawmakers who remain bitterly divided over issues like immigration, trade and infrastructure. He’s expected to lay out his agenda going forward while emphasizing his tax reform law and economic gains made under his administration.
To do so, he’ll rely on figures and statistics to bolster his case. How accurate are those figures? Do they stretch the truth, or accurately reflect reality?
