On the 80th anniversary of D-Day, President Joe Biden was spotted awkwardly looking for a seat as other officials remained standing during a D-Day commemoration ceremony in France on Thursday.

The 81-year-old president was seen looking confused and appeared to be searching for a chair that was not there in the middle of the stage in Normandy, France, despite his wife, First Lady Jill Biden, and French President Emmanuel Macron remaining standing upright next to him.

The first lady quickly covered her mouth at the exact moment that Biden appeared to hover over his chair.

The video surfaced all over social media after the blunder was captured on camera, with many assuming that Jill was telling her husband to not take a seat yet. However, it was not exactly clear what the first lady had murmured.

At one point during the ceremony, cameras also showed President Biden with his eyes completely shut, and later, Biden appeared to look lost after shaking hands with Macron. However, an usher quickly noticed the president’s confused body language and directed him towards the right direction.

The Bidens, other world leaders, and veterans gathered on the beaches of Normandy on Thursday to mark the 80th anniversary of the June 6th, 1944, invasion.

Biden utilized the platform to reassure viewers and attendees that the United States will continue to support Ukraine in their war against Russia.

In addition, during his speech at the Normandy American Cemetery, Biden said that it was his highest honor to salute the assembled U.S. veterans, as they were huddled in blankets.

He turned to tell them: “God love ya.”

“The men who fought here became heroes,” he said. “They knew beyond any doubt there are things that are worth fighting and dying for.”
