Scientists at the Climate Action Tracker said the recently signed Inflation Reduction Act could potentially slash U.S. carbon dioxide emissions 40% by 2030. The bill commits nearly $400 billion to help fight climate change. Samantha Gross, director of the Energy Security and Climate Initiative at the Brookings Institution, joined CBS News to discuss.
