Alabama legislature starts work on new congressional maps as deadline looms – CBS News

Lawmakers in Alabama began a special session Monday to redraw the state’s congressional districts ahead of a Friday deadline. In June, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled Alabama’s current map, with one majority-Black district, most likely violates the Voting Rights Act.
