Vice President Kamala Harris has officially selected Minnesota Governor Tim Walz to serve as her running mate in the 2024 presidential election. Walz may not necessarily be a household name, but the progressive wing of the Democrat party pushed hard for him to win the spot on the Harris ticket. And statements like this explain why.

“Don’t ever shy away from our progressive values,” Walz said. “One person’s socialism is another person’s neighborliness.”

A closer look at the two-term governor reveals little to brag about. Walz, the first person to say that the Trump campaign was “weird,” might want to look in the mirror.

In 2020, Walz was missing in action after the death of George Floyd. He allowed violence to take over Minnesota for days. Walz permitted the looting and rioting to run rampant, while his running mate, Kamala Harris, encouraged Americans to raise money and bail out rioters.

He then requested federal funding, saying rioters caused $500 million in damages. The only protest that proved more costly in U.S. history was the 1992 Los Angeles riots.

Additionally, fraud has plagued the Walz administration during his two terms as governor.

Federal authorities indicted nearly 50 people connected to the ‘Feeding our Future’ nonprofit scheme. FBI Director Christopher Wray called it the largest pandemic relief fraud scheme to date and an “egregious plot to steal public funds meant to care for children in need.” Authorities say the nonprofit stole a whopping $250 million from the federal nutrition program for personal gain.

An audit revealed that Walz’s Department of Education’s oversight, or lack thereof, “created opportunities for fraud.” Walz’s response to the situation earned him a rebuke from a federal judge for making “false statements.”

It didn’t stop there. A different audit revealed that “more than $200 million dollars of a $500 million frontline worker payment program went to people committing fraud or people with questionable eligibility.” Walz signed the payment program into law in 2022 to reward state frontline workers with “hero pay” for their work during the covid-19 pandemic. The audit revealed that less than 60% of applicants were eligible for Walz’s payments.

Walz has also championed far-left policies since the moment he took office in Minnesota.

Specifically, Walz has worked tirelessly to ensure that Minnesota became a trans-friendly state. Walz signed an education finance bill that required schools to provide menstrual products in both female and male bathrooms.

In 2023, he signed a bill known as the “trans refuge bill” that was intended to ensure minors have access to “gender affirming care” with no age limit.

Walz is no better on illegal immigration. Walz is in support of sanctuary city policy, and he even suggested the country needed to invest in a ladder company to help illegal immigrants evade the Trump border wall.

Walz also raised taxes in Minnesota. He proposed $10 billion in tax hikes, despite the state holding $17.5 billion surplus.

To top it off – Minnesota national guard leaders published a letter accusing Walz of quitting on his team when he learned of getting deployed to Iraq.

Walz’s resume shows he is a far left governor who has proven incompetence in governing. So maybe he is the perfect running mate for Kamala Harris.
