As artificial intelligence becomes more powerful, the companies developing it are largely keeping their technology closely guarded. An exception is Meta, the owner of Facebook, which is emphasizing open sourcing in development. Yann LeCun, a Meta developer and one of the “Godfathers of A.I.,” said such work is necessary.
