Inflation Slows, Fed’s Rate Decision in Focus: Expert Weighs In on Unrealized Capital Gains Tax Impact

The Consumer Price Index report shows inflation rose 0.2% in August, with prices up 2.5% from a year ago—the lowest yearly increase since early 2021. However, core inflation, excluding food and energy, is up 3.2% over the year and 0.3% in the last month. Analysts are speculating on how this could affect the Fed’s interest rate decision next week.
