Despite the seeming intensification of the trade and currency disputes between the U.S. and China, President Donald Trump remains open to a deal that would lead to flexibility on tariffs, White House economic advisor Larry Kudlow said Tuesday.
“The reality is we would like to negotiate,” Kudlow told CNBC’s “Squawk on the Street” during a live interview. “We’re planning for the Chinese team to come here in September. Things could change with respect to the tariffs.”
Kudlow is director of the National Economic Council and serves as a chief advisor to Trump.
