I think of “Men in black” when I see that. A young student caught on surveillance video. Mistakenly getting into a stronger’s car. Apparently thinking it was her Uber driver. Now the driver, who place say committed the crime, is behind bars. Victor Oquendo is in Columbia, South Carolina, with the story. Good morning, Victor. Reporter: Good morning, robin. The student body here at the university of South Carolina is mourping. More than 1,000 people came out for a vigil for Samantha Josephson. Her family and her sorority sisters. All of her future stripped away when she got into the wrong car. It’s comforting to see how many people showed up. Reporter: Overnight, an overwhelming show of support on campus for Samantha joezer ofson. The support of the university has been tremendous to us. To our friends. To our Fam will you. Reporter: Jozerson, last soon on sur vau Lance gting into the back soot of a black chf you have umpala. With bloof sh must talken will you got into this particular car thinking out was an Uber ride. Reporter: About 14 hours later, Josephson’s body was found by Turkey hunters in a remote wooded area about 90 minutes from campus. Police arresting 25-year-old Nathaniel Rowland Saturday. Charging him with murder’s kidnapping. Josephson suffered mult. Wounds to her body, including head, neck, face, upper body, leg, and foot. Police finding liquid bleach, cleaning wipes, window cleaner, and Josephson’s cell phone in the suspect’s car. And the child lox were activated so the doors couldn’t be opened from inside. Josephson’s father urging students to be safe. Samantha was by herself. What we have learned is that, you cannot — men or women — you guys have to travel together. Reporter: Police haven’t said if the killing was targeted. But are asking the public to report any encounters with fake ride-share drivers. We would ask anybody that has been in five points you know, in recent times, that has had anybody try to entice them over to a car, like in a ride-share capacity, they may not have thought much of it at the time could be very critical to what we’re trying to further develop here. We would ask them to give us a call. We consider ourselves fortunate to have phone and loved Sammy. Our lives will forever be better for having known her. We love you, Sammy. Reporter: A few reminders here from Uber. They want you to double check and make sure that your consider and driver match the details in the app. Your ride is always being tracked. Share the details of your ride with friends and family. Thank you. You had a good suggestion. When you get in the car, don’t say, are you here for? You ask them who they’re there for. Don’t get in until they say the right name.
