SEOUL (Reuters) – South Korea’s annual inflation slowed in March to its weakest pace since July 2016, adding pressure to policymakers to shift to an easing stance on growth concerns.
The consumer price index rose 0.4 percent in March from a year earlier, Statistics Korea said, missing forecasts of 0.9 percent seen in a Reuters poll of economists.
Bank of Korea’s current annual inflation target is at 2 percent.
