New privacy protection software has FBI fuming at tech giants – CBS News

In an effort to assuage consumer privacy concerns, tech giants Apple and Google have ramped up encryption methods for their new devices. The software allows users to enter a security code that would permanently lock their phones. FBI Director James Comey stressed that the technology could severely hamper criminal investigations.
