CHICAGO (Reuters) – Chinese importers bought an unknown quantity of U.S. soybeans on Tuesday in the first major purchases after booking more than 1.5 million tonnes of U.S. soy shipments last week, three traders with knowledge of the deals said.

The deals were the latest evidence that China was making good on pledges to buy U.S. agricultural goods as part of a trade war truce agreement struck between U.S. President Donald Trump and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping earlier this month.
