Several people are being treated for injuries after two suspects detonated an improvised explosive device inside a restaurant near Toronto, Canada, according to police.

Fifteen patients were transported from the scene of the incident, which took place on Thursday night local time, a police source told CNBC.

Three of those 15 people were taken to trauma centers with “critical blast injuries,” according to a twitter post from Peel Paramedics.

Two suspects fled the scene immediately after the explosion, said police, who asked for the public’s assistance in identifying the men.

Peel Police described two male suspects, both wearing hoodies and with their faces covered. One was described as stocky, in his mid-20s, with light skin. The second was described as having a thin build and fair skin.

The incident took place at Bombay Bhel restaurant in Mississauga, near the intersection of Hurontario Street and Eglinton Avenue, according to the Peel Paramedics.

Mississauga is about 15 miles (24 kilometers) west of downtown Toronto.

Emergency crews responded to the scene around 10:30 p.m.

Police blocked off the area and were interviewing witnesses.
