DALLAS — A Dallas police officer has died a day after a shooting at a North Dallas Home Depot, the Dallas mayor confirmed Wednesday. Officer Rogelio Santander died at Texas Health Presbyterian Dallas hospital at 8:11 a.m.

Another police officer who was shot remains hospitalized. The shooter also injured a store employee. Dallas Police were expected to give an update Wednesday morning.

Both of the Dallas police officers underwent surgery for their injuries at Texas Health Presbyterian Dallas hospital, reports CBS DFW. One later died. The Home Depot employee, who was also taken to Presbyterian and has not been identified, is in the ICU as well.

The man who police say shot the officers and the Home Depot security guard – Armando Luis Juarez – woke up behind bars today. After a manhunt and late-night police chase, Juarez was taken into custody and ultimately transferred to the Dallas County Jail very early Wednesday morning.
